A continuation of the XoopsForge project, which itself evolved from the original SourceForge.net source code. Thus, this NovellForge software works very similarly to the SourceForge.net site, with categories in trees (called Troves) with the ability to filter the categories, CVS for the backend version control system, forums for each project, separate communities and so forth. Unlike the evolved SourceForge software, however (see the SourceForge enterprise system under the Commercial links for Code Repository Software), this Novell Forge has remained open source and free under the GNU license. Requires the XOOPS framework to work, which is free and open source as well.
